Rick Marks was diagnosed with ALS about a year ago but he refused to allow his diagnosis to stop him from doing what he loves. When he decided he wanted to hike the Appalachian Trail, his wife didn’t quite believe him, but he was serious.

ALS is a disease that weakens the muscles and slowly causes destruction. The disease took Rick’s ability to talk but it hasn’t taken away his spirit. In this video, you will see him working on his hike of 600 miles.

Why is Rick doing this? He hopes to raise awareness of the disease and to raise money for ALS research so a cure can be found. Check out this amazing video and please SHARE on Facebook.
