Meet Lana, an 8-month-old Brazilian puppy rescued from the streets. It wasn’t long before she was found and the dog was blessed with a forever home when Suelyn Shumloville and her fiancé adopted her.
In the arms of a caring owner, the puppy now has access to everything he never had before: regular meals, a warm home and the humans he loves so much. Lana is finally living a comfortable and safe life, but she clearly hasn’t forgotten what it’s like for other dogs who haven’t been as lucky as her.
When the weather turned cold in their area, Suelen bought a thicker blanket to make sure Lana stayed warm and comfortable in her doghouse. However, after tucking her in one evening, Suelen had no idea that the blanket she had just purchased would benefit more than one dog.
Solin’s fiancé was about to leave for work the next morning when he noticed an unusual sight outside their house. Lana was lying by the fence with her new blanket, which she had dragged outside to share with another dog down the street.
Solin says she had already seen this dog near their house the day before. She could not confirm whether the puppy was stray or not. He ran away when she tried to approach him to verify his identity. But her pet seems to have befriended the pup and decided to share her comfort.
“I thought to myself, ‘How beautiful what you did for her friend,’ Swillen told The Dodo. “My four-legged best friend reminded me of something very important: generosity!”
Since that incident, the couple have seen the dog from time to time, but have failed to catch it. They hope that if they catch him, they can help him find his way back if he’s already lost. During this time, they left food and water for her outside their home.
If Lana could, Solin knew she would do anything to help her friend.
She says, “She’s the cutest little dog I’ve ever met in my life. Sometimes you forget the difference you can make in someone’s life. She reminded me of that.”
