Sometimes all it takes is one child to remind us to be kind and generous to one another. That’s what 5-year-old Josiah Duncan did at the local Waffle House in Alabama.
He was at a restaurant with his mother, Ava Falk, when he noticed a homeless man standing outside the restaurant.
Confused by the man’s appearance, Josiah asked his mother many questions about the man.
Ava explained to her son that the man was homeless. When Josiah realized the stranger had no food, he begged his mother to buy him a meal.
Josiah and Ava took the man to the restaurant and offered to buy whatever he wanted. Josiah brought the man a menu, but what he did just before the man ate his burger brought the 11 people in the restaurant to tears.
Josiah insisted that he say the blessing with the man. Josiah sang the blessing as loud as he could: “God is our Father, God is our Father, we thank you, we thank you, we thank you, for our many blessings, for our many blessings, amen, amen. “
“The man cried. I cried. Everyone cried,” Falk admitted. After that, the man quietly finished his meal and continued on his way.
“Watching my son touch 11 people at Waffle House tonight will forever be one of the greatest accomplishments as a parent I will ever witness,” Ava told WSFA 12 News.
