A Paquita was brought down at the Arca Animal Shelter in Argentina by someone who found her wandering the streets. The dog was sad and depressed. To make matters worse, it has always been ignored as people have continued to adopt younger dogs. Volunteer Silvia Ferreira took Paquita under her wing and took care of her for two years.
But what no one knew was that Paquita already had a home. He missed it.
It was difficult to take a good picture of the dog because she was still crooked and had her head bowed. When workers finally took the coupon, it was posted online to potential adopters. They immediately received a message from a woman saying that the dog was her son and that they had been looking for her for a long time.
The woman’s son, Ariel Navira, lost Paquita when she ran away from his home two years ago, and he thought he’d never see her again. He was excited that it could actually be her.
Ariel arrived the next day to meet the dog. When Paquita was taken out she was understandably skeptical and still a bit withdrawn. But that all changed when Paquita smelled a familiar scent.
