Pakita was dropped off at Arca Animal Refuge in Argentina by someone who found her wandering the streets. The dog was sad and depressed. And to make matters worse, she has always been ignored as people have continued to adopt younger dogs. Volunteer Silvia Ferreyra took Pakita under her protection and cared for her for two years.
But what nobody knew was that she Pakita already had a house. And she missed him.
It was difficult to take a good photo of the dog as she was still curled up and tilted her head. When the workers finally accepted a coupon, it was posted online for potential adopters. They immediately received a message from a woman saying that the dog belonged to her son and that they had been looking for her for a long time.
The woman’s son, Ariel Naveira, lost Pakita when she ran away from her home two years ago and believed he would never see her again. He was excited that it could really be her.
Ariel arrived the next day to meet the dog. When Pakita was brought out, she was understandably skeptical and still a bit withdrawn. But everything changed when she Pakita smelled a familiar scent.
She was so excited and burst out with joy. It was sad for Ariel to lose his dog, but this moment just about made up for it. Everyone was in total disbelief.
