Philip Schofield shared an Instagram story on Friday morning, in which he admitted his hidden sexual orientation had been “eating him up for a few years.”
The story revealed that his wife Stephanie and daughters Molly and Robbie are supportive of Schofield and his sexual orientation, “despite their confusion”.
He wrote, according to The Sun, “My family held me very close: they tried to cheer me up, smother me with kindness and love, despite their confusion.” “However, I still couldn’t sleep and there were some very dark moments.”
Phillip had the support of his colleagues around him when he went to make his own announcement this morning, but neither did co-presenter Holly Willoughby. Philip said on the show that he couldn’t have done it without Holly’s support, and she later said, “Okay, whatever happens in the future, I’ll sit at side of you.”
The love between the two friends was evident on the screen, which sparked emotions among viewers. One Twitter user said, “Philip and Holly’s relationship made me feel sorry for #ThisMorning,” while another said, “The support he’s given from Holly has been amazing!”
The two presenters have been together for many years and celebrated their 10th anniversary in 2019 according to the Daily Mail, naming Phillip Holly as the sister-to-be.
