After she finished her performance with a high definition note, the entire audience rose to give her a standing ovation. Leaders were also generous in their praise. “It’s ridiculous how talented you are,” said Amanda Holden, adding that she was “shocked” by the sound coming from her tiny body.
“We’ve seen a lot of kids in this show in three series now,” said Piers Morgan. “I never heard any of them sing like you.”
Even Simon Cowell had positive words for Holly. He admitted he made assumptions about her abilities due to her song choice and costume, but said he was surprised when she started singing.
He said, “I think Holly, you have a great voice”, and the crowd erupted. Holly moved on to the next round, and the video clip of the audition quickly went viral. The audience was as stunned by her multi-faceted performance as anyone in the studio.
Over a decade later, Holly is still performing. When Holly was 20, she gave an interview to The Lauren Show where she shared how she recently returned from a year-long cruise ship where she starred on the show Grease. She also added that people still recognize her through her performance on Britain’s Got Talent.
These days, Holly regularly updates her fans on her YouTube channel with a variety of videos ranging from cover songs to videos about her time on British’s Got Talent. So even though she didn’t win a BGT in 2009, this talented young lady still managed to make a career out of her incredible voice.
