The world can be a surprising place, and sometimes it brings us heartwarming stories that remind us of the good in humanity. One such story comes from New York, where Brock Cvijanovich, the owner of a property management company, has become the guardian of a 93-year-old woman.

Cvijanovich had recently made a deal to buy his first apartment building in upstate New York. However, the deal came with an unusual condition that he couldn’t refuse. Although he was outbid by someone willing to pay $100,000 more, the owner offered to take $50,000 off the list price if Cvijanovich agreed to take care of Alice Schuman, a 93-year-old resident in the building.

Despite the unexpected condition, Cvijanovich happily agreed and purchased the property. As he settled into his new role as a property owner and caretaker, he learned that the former owner had been escorting Alice to the bank, to her doctor’s appointments, and to the grocery store. Moreover, the previous owner had only charged Alice $200 a month for rent, whereas the same units in the building were going for around $2,000.

Cvijanovich’s kind heart and willingness to care for Alice have not gone unnoticed. His actions have inspired many and brought a sense of hope to those who often feel forgotten in our society. By taking care of Alice, Cvijanovich has shown us that compassion and kindness can still exist in the world, even in the most unexpected places.

In a world where it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it’s stories like this that remind us of what’s truly important. It’s not about the amount of money we have or the possessions we own; it’s about the people we touch and the impact we make.

We can all learn from Cvijanovich’s example and strive to be more compassionate and caring toward those around us, especially those who may be forgotten or neglected.

The story of Alice Schuman and Brock Cvijanovich is a testament to the power of kindness and compassion. Alice had lived in an apartment building owned by the previous owner for over 60 years, and her rent had never been raised. When Cvijanovich took over the building, he followed in the footsteps of the previous owner and charged Alice only $200 for rent. He also went above and beyond by helping her with all of her errands.

However, when Alice had a medical emergency and was deemed unfit to care for herself, she was going to be put in the state’s care since she had no living relatives or friends. Worried that she wouldn’t receive the best care, Cvijanovich got a lawyer and became her legal guardian. He visited her every day in the hospital, bringing her food and flowers and keeping her apartment empty for nearly a year, hoping she would be able to return home.

Sadly, Alice passed away from pneumonia in January, but she was not alone. Cvijanovich and his mother were by her side, holding her hands.

Cvijanovich’s actions show that even in a world where people can sometimes be self-centered, there are still those who go above and beyond to care for others. His kindness and compassion will not be forgotten, and his example should inspire us all to do more to help those in need.
