We have been doing this hike on New Years Day for two years. We were taking a little walk and were finishing up and trying to take selfies with a nice background when a woman came up to us and asked if we wanted her to take our picture,” Asymina told People about the moment.
The royal couple with baby Archie are spending the holidays in Canada with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland. Looks like the parents decided to start their new year with a little hike.
“We had noticed the group before, they were very distant otherwise. They had two dogs and we wanted to pet one,” Kantorovic said. However, Meghan and Harry had a girlfriend to go with them, Abigail Spencer who co-starred with Markle in TV series Suits Asimina said she noticed Spencer before she saw Meghan and Harry.
“I’m a Suits fan and first noticed Abigail, then I looked up and realized Meghan was taking the picture. Then I looked at the set and realized Prince Harry was there too!”
The couple say they can’t believe Meghan Markle took the photo for them. “There was Megan smiling at me, waiting for the picture to be taken, and it was just shocking at the time and in disbelief,” Asimina said.
Asimina said, “The only thing I thought I’d say to her was, ‘Selfie sticks can do so many things.'” She laughed and said something like, ‘We’ll have to take a good picture after this ‘, then Harry added, ‘No pressure’.
As well as offering to take the photo, the couple said Markle was “very personable and down-to-earth.” They agreed that it was very nice of him to offer to take their photo as they were struggling to get one with their selfie stick.
The couple said: “She and Harry seemed really happy – like a happy couple. I wish baby Archie was here! I hope they enjoy their time on Vancouver Island.”
