Sharing your passion with your partner can lead to a profound understanding and enable them to offer wholehearted support. When Jacob and Maxine first crossed paths, Maxine openly shared her aspiration to adopt and foster children. Jacob, being supportive of her dreams, eagerly joined her in attending foster care classes, a journey that culminated in their approval in 2017.
Initially, their plan was to provide a loving home for two children in need. However, fate had other plans when they were asked to foster three additional kids. Without hesitation, Maxine and Jacob welcomed all three into their care. Shortly thereafter, they received a surprising call, as reported by People:
“Not even a month later, we got a call about their baby sister, who was in the NICU. So, we picked her up… and in less than a month, our family went from zero to four children. It was both incredible and undoubtedly chaotic.”
As time went by, and with the biological parents of the children missing scheduled visits, Maxine and Jacob decided to pursue adoption for their beloved foster children.
Six months into their journey of fostering the four children, Maxine and Jacob received incredibly joyous news: Maxine was pregnant. This news was particularly meaningful for the couple, who had previously experienced the heartache of two miscarriages and had turned to IVF treatments in hopes of conceiving. They had chosen this path because Maxine had been told that she couldn’t conceive naturally due to her PCOS. The arrival of their baby boy marked their family as five.
But the surprises didn’t end there. Shortly after the birth of their baby boy, the couple received astonishing news: Maxine had become pregnant again, this time naturally—a development they had thought impossible. To make it even more incredible, it turned out that Maxine was carrying quadruplets.
