When Valerie Watts was nine months pregnant, she had an experience no mother should have. She was left in disbelief when just days before her due date, Valerie received the heartbreaking news that she was carrying a stillborn baby.

One can only imagine Valérie’s grief after learning the news of her child, whom she carried for a long time. Her world must have been turned upside down, and what’s more, she comes home to an empty child’s room full of clothes and toys for her newborn baby.

As many say – time heals all wounds, Valerie finally sold the bed at a garage sale. However, she was unprepared for what would happen after she was sold.

This beautiful story is now making its way online.

“I knew all week that he wasn’t moving much. I was very nervous.”

These are the words of Valerie Watts of Kocata, Minnesota, speaking of the week before the tragic death of her son Noah.

A man named Gérald Valérie was surprised when he became interested in the nativity scene. Gérald puts away old furniture in his free time, but he might be reluctant to give it to Valérie.

“She was a little hesitant, I knew she probably didn’t want to sell it. And with that, she did.”

Gerald had just assumed the yard sale was for baby items no longer needed, unaware of the tragic events that had taken place a year earlier.

Unbeknownst to Gerald, his wife who was also at the yard sale with him was talking to Valerie earlier that day. When Valerie is questioned about her child’s age, Valerie reveals to her the tragic circumstances of Noah’s death.

On his return trip with his bed, Gérald’s wife informs him of the tragedy that has befallen Valérie. Hearing this, he decided to return the cradle to her.

But Gerald also realized that it could be just as painful to have the shape of a cradle – so he decided to turn it into a beautiful bench as a tribute to Noah.

Knowing it might be a pain to return the cradle to Valerie, Gerald took it upon himself to turn it into a beautiful seat in memory of Noah.

Gerald returns to Valerie’s a week later with a nice bench to sit on in his house in remembrance of his missing son, Noah.

Valérie was surprised by the generosity shown to her by this stranger and burst into tears.

“It’s amazing, there are good people, there is evidence,” Valerie said.

What a wonderful and beautiful gift from Gerald to honor his son Noah.
