A man claims a UPS driver launched an unprovoked attack on his dog and his dog at an Alzheimer’s treatment center in California. The incident was recorded with cameras outside the facility in late May.

Tim Poulsen at the Life Center with his dogs Patch and Bonnie Bell also works with residents, according to KSBY News. The footage shows the driver walking towards his truck, followed by Patch in the back.

The driver turns around and kicks the patch, causing it to roll and run. Paulsen thought Patch was dead and ran towards the driver, only to be shoved and shoved.

Paulsen claims he was injured during the scrum. “As I was going to pick up the dog, the driver punched me in the chest, dislocated a rib from my solar plexus, and refracturized one of my ribs,” he told CalCoastNews. This attack was completely unjustified. The driver threatened to kick me as I tried to calm the situation.

The footage appears to show Poulsen’s hand raised with a fist, but he claims he was pointing back with his thumb to indicate he saw what the driver had done.

Poulsen told KSBY News he believes Patch is dead. “Honestly, I thought he killed the dog. When I saw him go around like that, I thought, ‘Oh man, that’s it,'” he said. Paulsen said the driver told him he had been attacked by dogs before. “He was telling me how much he hates dogs and that he would hit me too.”
