The Taiwanese woman was in critical condition after being taken to hospital. Fortunately, his life was saved after he received 10 units of blood and 2 units of isolated platelets.

Four years ago, Xiaofen returned to her hometown, Hsinchu, in northwest Taiwan. That’s when she met her boyfriend Lian.
Xiaofen shared with Lian the blood transfusion she received in 2008, and Lian joked that she may have gotten her blood.
“Could it be my blood that you used?” asked Lian Xiaofen.
It was then that Lian shared with his girlfriend that he had donated blood regularly. The details piqued Xiaofen’s curiosity, after which she asked the local blood bank to find out the identity of the blood donor.
She confirmed that it was Lian who gave her blood after checking her ID number with station employees.
Surprisingly, his predictions came true. “When they told me it was Mr. Lian from Hsinchu, I was surprised,” Xiaofen said in a TV interview.
Lian would have been surprised to learn that his blood had gone to his girlfriend. Who knew that Lian’s blood donation had helped Xiaofen survive?
He later encouraged the public to donate blood because “you might have a chance to save your future wife”.
